faculty professional development workshopsThe LSA faculty embarked upon a multi-year training initiative in Project-Based curriculum development, delivery and assessment that started in the summer of 2012. Throughout the 2012-2013 school year, they have participated in 3 full-day professional development workshops. Additionally, each teacher participates in ongoing project planning endeavors within the context of their grade level teaching teams.
View 2012-2013 faculty development workshop agendas. the project-based learning development team (PBLD)The Project-Based Learning Development (PBLD) Team is comprised of 12 LSA teachers, administrators and specialists who meet bi-monthly to develop their capacity as project-based practitioners, and collaborate on the creation of PBL materials by and for the LSA school community. PBLD members communicate with their grade level teaching teams and serve as teacher leaders who help to develop and monitor the progress of grade level projects. Each LSA grade level is represented on the PBLD Team.
Grade Level Teaching teamsGrade level teaching teams at LSA meet regularly to discuss overarching curricular themes, Common Core learning goals and standards, and the development of relevant and engaging student projects.
